A Grand Inauguration of Two-Day Urdu Literary Art Exhibition at National Urdu School, Nashik

In a remarkable celebration of art, literature, and culture, the National Urdu School, Nashik, hosted a two-day Urdu Literary Art Exhibition on August 15 and 16, 2025. The initiative, organized under the banner of the Youth Education C Welfare Society (YEWS), aimed to inspire the younger generation with the richness of Urdu poetry, painting, and calligraphy while preserving the essence of a language deeply woven into India’s cultural fabric.
Honoring the Legacy of Urdu Poetry
The exhibition brought alive the works of some of the greatest Urdu poets, including Ahmed Raza Khan, Mir Taqi Mir, Mirza Ghalib, Allama Iqbal, and Bahadur Shah Zafar. Each selected verse was not only displayed but also artistically interpreted through paintings and rare calligraphic works, bridging literature with visual art. Visitors described the experience as stepping into a space where words turned into colors and poetry blossomed into artistic expression.
Young Voices Bringing Literature Alive

One of the most engaging highlights of the event was the participation of school and college students. With confidence and passion, they explained the meanings and literary background of the featured poems to visitors. Their insightful interpretations won
admiration and reflected how Urdu continues to inspire fresh perspectives among today’s youth.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic presence of teachers and students from across Nashik, members of management committees, and several distinguished personalities. Together, they celebrated Urdu not merely as a language, but as an emotion, a cultural bond, and a heritage that needs to be carried forward.

The inaugural ceremony was marked by the presence of respected dignitaries, including Mr. Nasir Abdul Razzaq Pathan (President, YEWS), Mr. Sohail Umar Shaikh (Vice- President), Prof. Zahid Shaikh (Secretary), Mr. Ejaz Qazi (Joint Secretary), Mr. Ghaus Aala Noor Khan (Treasurer), along with executive members Syed Ejaz Hassan and Syed Saleem Sadiq, and members of the general body.
Addressing the gathering, speakers hailed the exhibition as a guiding light for students and an important cultural step in the service of Urdu. They emphasized that such platforms create awareness, build confidence, and strengthen the bridge between tradition and modernity.
Support from the Academic Fraterty
Principal Mr. Tauseef Shaikh and Vice Principal Dr. Noor-e-Ilahi Shah of National High School for Boys C Junior College applauded the efforts of the organizers and participants. They stressed that events like this are crucial for the survival and promotion of Urdu, helping ensure that the language remains vibrant in educational and cultural spaces.
The programme was coordinated with dedication by the Urdu faculty team, which included Dr. Noor-e-Ilahi Shah, Khurshid Ahmed, Sajjad Haider, Abid Shaikh, Aslam Khan, Azharuddin Mallahi, Adil Shaikh, Ayesha Inamdar, Neela Khan, Naz Shaikh, and Syed Sadaf. Their collective efforts turned the exhibition into a resounding success.
A Cultural and Literary Triumph

What made this initiative truly special was its ability to polish the literary and cultural taste of the community while sparking a renewed appreciation for Urdu among the younger generation. Visitors described the exhibition as “a pioneering initiative” that beautifully merged education, creativity, and heritage.
The overwhelming response from the public proved that there is still a deep admiration for Urdu poetry, calligraphy, and art. Many hailed the exhibition as not only a showcase but also a movement of revival, bringing together Nashik’s educational institutions, literary enthusiasts, and cultural patrons under one roof.
Renowned film lyricist Mehboob Kotwal, who gave famous songs to films like “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” and “Bombay”, and the creator of the famous patriotic song “Maa Tujhe Salaam”, not only visited the school today to see the Urdu exhibition but also addressed the students and teachers.
