From Small-Town Dreams to Social Impact: Journey of Balancing Work and Purpose

In a world where most juggle between personal goals and professional commitments, Shah Fahad stands as a unique example of someone who’s managed to blend both— building a fulfilling career while leading social change. Hailing from Kishanganj, Bihar, Shah’s story is one of resilience, empathy, and a relentless pursuit of impact.

Currently a full-time working professional, Shah juggles his corporate responsibilities with his passion for community service. He is the Co-Founder and Director of TPR India Foundation, a Delhi-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering marginalized communities through practical, need-based initiatives.

The Turning Point: A Pandemic, A Purpose

The journey began during the turbulent COVID-19 lockdowns. While many were confined to their homes, Shah and his friends took to the streets, aiding daily wage workers and the homeless. “It wasn’t a planned decision,” Shah recalls. “It was a moment of realization that I couldn’t look away.”

From distributing ration kits to verifying urgent medical leads, Shah became an active voice in community relief efforts. It was during this period that he met like-minded changemakers, including Daniyal Ashraf, leading to the formation of what is now TPR India Foundation—formally registered in February 2022.

Bridging Gaps Through Action

What started as grassroots activism has evolved into a series of structured, high-impact programs:

  • Project Parwaah: A flagship winter drive offering blankets, warm clothes, and hygiene kits to the
  • Ghar Pe Eid: A heartfelt initiative ensuring underprivileged families can celebrate Eid with dignity.
  • Project DLAT (Digital Literacy and Awareness Training): Teaching essential tech skills to underserved youth.

  • Internship Network: Mentored over 500 interns from prestigious institutions, offering hands-on community development

Challenges and Resilience

Balancing his career and nonprofit duties hasn’t been easy. “There have been long nights, limited resources, and burnout,” Shah admits. Yet he finds strength in purpose: “My job gives me the tools; my nonprofit gives me the reason.”

From handling client relations at work to managing field operations on weekends, Shah exemplifies the power of time management and focused intent. “For me, the two worlds don’t compete—they complete each other.”

Fueling a Movement, One Step at a Time

What motivates him? “If not me, then who?” he says. Having grown up in a small town where opportunities were scarce, Shah feels a personal responsibility to give back. Each smile, each life touched, keeps him going.

His short-term goals include successfully launching the DigiPathshala classroom and expanding DLAT across more districts. Long term, he envisions a nationwide network of community learning centers and hopes to merge his professional expertise with impact- driven leadership roles in CSR and ESG sectors.

Through TPR India Foundation, Shah Fahad and his team are creating ripples of change— but they can’t do it alone.
